❉ The film that Poison Ivy deserves: made by the fans, for the fans.
Regular readers may recall when We Are Cult told you about Brit indie fantasy film Songbird (starring The X Factor‘s Janet Devlin), which is due to hit festivals this year, and director Sophie Black’s Night Owls, a short film which recently had a successful festival run.
Songbird and Night Owls’ production team, the multi-award-winning independent production house Triskelle Pictures Ltd., led by director Sophie Black, are currently trying to raise funds via crowdfunding platform Indiegogo for The Poison Ivy Fan Film, a short film celebrating the DC Comics character.
Triskelle Pictures say:
“We love the Batman villain Poison Ivy, but for a long time now we’ve felt that she has been underrepresented in film & television. So it’s our goal to create a short fan film that brings the character front and centre.
“It’s important to say up front, we are not supported by DC in any way. This is an unofficial passion project made by a group of fans, and no one will keep any of the funds raised by this campaign. The money is just to cover our expenses; we will NOT be making any profits on this material”
