Released today, internationally renowned singer and We Are Cult favourite Barb Jungr takes on Jimmy Webb’s modern standard!
One of the most extraordinary British performers of her generation, Barb Jungr’s formidable talent as a singer, composer and lyricist is only outshined by her ability to re-interpret familiar songs and reveal new depths of meaning and beauty. In taking on MacArthur Park, one of the most beautiful of legendary songwriter Jimmy Webb’s repertoire, Jungr reveals the beauty of the song and showcases her own unique singing. The song takes us almost operatically through the past to the present, and is recorded with piano, orchestrally supporting that journey, in the hands of the fine musician and arranger Simon Wallace.
