Award winning electronic music artist, Fused (Mark Kendrick) released his tenth commercial single on 4 December 2020 entitled No Fear. It’s a fast paced, 142bpm electronic dance floor stomper which takes inspiration from mid- to late-1980s electronic industrial music in the style of Assemblage23, NitzerEbb, Sigue Sigue Sputnik and Ashbury Heights.
Fused is the musical project of Mark Kendrick, who is based in SouthEngland. He’s personally influenced by established synth giants such as Depeche Mode, Gary Numan and De/Vision as well as by his contemporaries Tenek, Mesh and Lowe; and has enjoyed global airplays of his work and was selected as one of Artefaktor Radio’s top tracks in 2019. More crucially in October 2019 was voted as the Top Electro Act by Radio Wigwam. Furthermore, Fused featured on an anthology of his peers on the numerous Electropop releases by Conzoom Records.
As well as producing music, Mark is a highly regarded producer and mixer of other people’s music and has reworked tracks by Nature of Wires, Tin Gun, SombreMoon amongst many others.
No Fear was originally released as a four-track single on streaming, digital and CD formats, and features the main single mix, an extended version, a more EDM/industrial flavoured Control Mix as well as a bonus track Midnight Drive which evokes late-night, mid ’80s American TV shows such as Miami Vice and is also inspired by electronic music of the mid-1980s as well as modern Synthwave such as Tenek, Parralox and Mesh.
This high energy EP is a four-track collection of ambitious remixes released in late January 2021, which also features a new cinematic theme song called The Dalotek Affair, a love letter to the classic 1970s Sci-Fi show UFO. The new remixes of the lead track range from classic early ‘Vince Clarke era’ synthpop through to modern club trance versions. Furthermore, an instrumental edition of all of the songs is also released in February 2021 with new mixes of the B-side tracks.

❉ Ange Chan is a freelance writer, having produced two novels and six volumes of poetry. She was also prolific contributor in the anthology collection Me and the Starman, (now available by Cult Ink on Amazon) and is a lifelong lover of music, having first been published in the 1980s music press. As well as being a frequent contributor to the pop culture website We Are Cult, she is working on her long-standing third novel Champagne Flutes and Pixie Boots.
