Louise Jameson is ‘Lonely This Christmas’

❉ Third Time Lucky announce a short festive film starring Louise Jameson as Grandma Polly.

Louise Jameson will be familiar to a very wide audience, and is best known for a handful of pivotal TV roles, such as Doctor Who companion Leela (1977-78), Doctor Anne Reynolds in 1979’s The Omega Factor, Blanche Simmons in Tenko (1981 – 1983), Susan Young in Bergerac (1985 – 1990) and as Rosa di Marco in EastEnders (1998 – 2000).

Louise is to reprise her role as Grandma Polly from the lockdown web-series Self-Isolation in Third Time Lucky’s festive short film, Lonely This Christmas, releasing on Christmas Eve. The short also sees the return of Ashleigh Carter (Jamie), Laura Jayne Hunt (Zoe) and Oliver Martin (Vic) from Self-Isolation, as well as Andy Futter (Izzy) and Juliet Rimell (Jo) from the Pride short film Tea & Shade. The short also introduces two brand new characters, Will and Stephen, played by Lewis Hern and Nathaniel Rehman respectively.

The short’s producer/director Andrew Creak said:

“This short is very different than planned. The original script had no returning cast, and was to be filmed on location following social distancing. Then my area was put into a local lockdown, and we decided it would be best to revise the script to a video call-based short. This is still how lots of people are living, so I started to wonder about how our previous characters would be coping at this time of year. I contacted the cast to see if they were interested in reprising their roles, and fortunately, they were!”

If you fancy something darker this Christmas, TTL also has a murder mystery caper, starring Simon Fisher Becker, and written by GB Williams. Who will survive to the port, cigars, and will-reading when we play Christmas Buffet Roulette? Click here for Christmas Buffet Roulette on YouTube.
