We are all so proud of Uncle, and particularly delighted to see the final series end on a high and go out with such a bang. The cast is as brilliant as ever and the writing and direction excels – fans of the first two series’ will love it. – Alison MacPhail, Executive Producer

It’s been four years since man-child Andy (Nick Helm) forged an unlikely alliance with nerdy nephew Errol (Elliot Speller-Gillott). Suicidal and irresponsible, Andy cared only about having lost his girlfriend, and only looked after Errol after being blackmailed into it by chaotic sister Sam (Daisy Haggard).

It’s time to re-join them for series three and they’re not the only ones who’ve changed. Sam has a new job, is living with Bruce (Daniel Lawrence Taylor) and Errol as a part of a newly-blended family and everything’s finally come together – but will she be ready when a surprise comes along to test her mettle?

Series three features guest appearances from Dylan Moran (Black Books) as music exec Marsh, Amanda Abbington (Sherlock) as creative writing teacher Siobhan, Geraldine James OBE and Clive Russell (Game of Thrones) as Andy and Sam’s parents, and Kae Alexander (Game of Thrones) as music producer Lex. They join returning cast members from series one and two including Con O’Neill (Val).

Kristian Smith, Commissioning Editor for BBC Comedy, says: “Through the past two series’ we’ve watched Errol and indeed his Uncle Andy grow up, and in this one we see them both face adulthood. A charming and beautifully written series that won’t disappoint”.

Alison MacPhail, Executive Producer, says: “We are all so proud of Uncle, and particularly delighted to see the final series end on a high and go out with such a bang. The cast is as brilliant as ever and the writing and direction excels – fans of the first two series’ will love it.”

❉ ‘Uncle’ series three will premiere on BBC Three starting Sunday 1 January at 10am. ‘Uncle’ series one and two is available online now on BBC iPlayer.
