We Are Cult goes ‘Behind The Sofa’!

❉ We Are Cult’s first event of 2020 is the perfect New Year rut-buster for Doctor Who fans!

The first We Are Cult event of 2020, WE ARE CULT GOES BEHIND THE SOFA, will be happening upstairs in the fantastic Tiny Rebel Cardiff, 25 Westgate Street, and it’s a celebration of all things Doctor Who, with an emphasis on the marvellous animations and brilliant special features created for the classic series Blu-ray and DVD range!

We are very pleased to welcome back stand-up comedian and We Are Cult contributor SAM MICHAEL as our compere, and Billy Garatt-John and Matthew Toffolo aka the popular Doctor Who vloggers THE REVIEW OF DEATH, who will be marking their first appearance in Cardiff – home of twenty-first century Doctor Who – by discussing the Russell T Davies era of Doctor Who in the irrepressible, infectious and fondly irreverent style that made their live debut at last year’s We Are Cult Bristol Meet so popular with its audience.

We will also be joined by two of the creative minds behind some of the highlights of the Doctor Who classic series’ DVD & Blu-ray catalogue and its Missing Episodes DVD & Blu-ray animations…

BAFTA-nominated documentary maker CHRIS CHAPMAN returns with another of his popular presentations on his work as a director and producer of special features for the ‘Doctor Who: The Collection’ Blu-ray series and will once again be screening recent clips from his productions as well as some sneak peeks of forthcoming extras!

Also making an appearance is animator and graphic designer ROB RITCHIE, who will be discussing his work on the animations of Patrick Troughton’s missing stories The Power Of The Daleks and The Macra Terror, the incomplete Tom Baker epic Shada written by Douglas Adams, and the Special Edition of Terror of the Vervoids.

Last but not least, we round things off with sketches from impressionists WE SOUND FAMILIAR, whose founder member Chris Walker-Thomson is best known for his uncanny Patrick Troughton and who recently made his Big Finish debut in ‘The Fourth Doctor Comic Strip Adaptations’.

So, join us for a fun, friendly, intimate afternoon celebrating all things Doctor Who, in one of Cardiff’s coolest pubs, the award-winning Tiny Rebel, in its Beer Alley upstairs overlooking the Millennium Stadium. The event will start at 1pm prompt, with a one-hour break, and wind up around 6pm. Tickets are the bargaineous price of £20.00 each and can be ordered from the Eventbrite page. Due to limited capacity, tickets are sure to sell out quickly so book now – you don’t want to miss this!
