Podcast of the Week: Launching The Pilot

❉ Podcast reviewing TV pilots, old and newish.

We’re big fans of podcasts here at We Are Cult, and we’re always looking for new shows to subscribe to. So if you’re looking for ear candy, we’re here to help!

This week: Brian and Paul tell us all about Launching The Pilot.

What’s your podcast about?

We watch pilots (or first episodes) of TV shows and walk thought the story (and forget actor and character names) then give thoughts on the show. Our format does mean we can do any show, but we mainly do Sci-fi/fantasy.

If you had to describe your show in 10 words or less, what would you say?

Light, very light, entertainment with talk we find amusing!

Which episode would you recommend for a first-time listener? Do you have a favourite episode?

Episode 22 was Hulk Hogan’s “Thunder In Paradise” and we had a lot of fun with that, new episodes are probably a little better has we have got more confident.

What inspired you to create this podcast?

Me and my co-host would talk all the time about old shows we use to watch and without too much know-how a podcast is easy to do, plus I would listen to a lot of Podcasts and think I could do that.

Which guests have you had on your podcast so far?

Zero guests so far apart from the wife or kids walk thought as we record.

Who would be your dream guest?

Anyone! Anyone at all…or anyone from the tv show of ’70s, ’80s and ’90s.

Which equipment do you use for your podcast set-up?

An old digital dictaphone (top of the line 8 years ago) given to me and two unbanded Mics (£5.99 each), and an Alienware laptop with Audacity (great bit of free software)
