Friends reUNITed at ‘L.I. Who 4’, Long Island’s Doctor Who Festival

❉ A vortex of Who stars descended on the fourth annual Long Island Doctor Who Convention last weekend.

It all started with Peter Purves on the Empire State Building and it ended with three Doctors comparing the sizes of their… uh… televisions.

At least that was my experience at L.I. Who 4.

If you are interested in Doctor Who or have a friend who is a fan, you may have heard of L.I. Who this past weekend.

Throughout November 11-13th at the Hyatt Regency in Hauppauge, NY thousands flocked to “attend carefully” whilst meeting their favourite Doctor Who actors, watching panels and joining their fellow fans.

This year was attended by Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Paul McGann, Jemma Redgrave, Anneke Wills, Frazer Hines, Peter Purves, Nicholas Briggs, Richard Franklin, Sophie Aldred, Daphne Ashbrook, Yee Jee Tso, and many others.

There were dinners and brunches with the stars, cosplay competitions, and even a full track for children’s programming!

There was nowhere else that weekend where you could find out (early!) that Jemma Redgrave and Richard Franklin were teaming up for an U.N.I.T. Big Finish audio, see the only real 8th Doctor’s costume or discover that Paul McGann’s porn name would be Cuddles Jubilee.

That’s not to mention all the fan talent either!

From Pixel Who to Telos Publishing you’re sure to find something to bring home in the Dealer’s Room.

Thanks to all the wonderful staff and volunteers, lead by mastermind/con-runner Ken Deep.

Do your Whovian hearts a favour and check it next year!
