The Anchoress is songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, Ph.D, and author, Catherine Anne Davies.
HMV’s Welsh Album of the Year and Winner of Best Newcomer at this year’s Prog awards, her critically-acclaimed debut album ‘Confessions of a Romance Novelist’ was released via Kscope January 2016, followed by a second edition on 2LP vinyl on 14 October with new artwork and four brand new acoustic tracks, and a 2CD expanded edition with 5 acoustic tracks.
The Anchoress was lauded earlier this year by the broadsheet press for her “compelling” (The Observer) and “fascinating” (Sunday Times) debut album, which she co-produced with Mansun’s Paul Draper; gracing the cover of the Guardian reviews section, as well as receiving coverage online from The Quietus, Drowned in Sound, The Line of Best Fit, Q, Gigwise, NPR and more.
