Brett Anderson on Suede’s new album

❉ Brett Anderson tells all about his memoirs, Horrible Histories, and Suede’s new album: “The album is the best thing we’ve done for nearly a quarter of a century”

‘I love hearing how my little songs have woven themselves into the fabric of people’s lives’

Issue One of Suede fanzine The Insatiable Ones is out now, edited by Samantha Hand. In its debut issue, The Insatiable Ones reports on an interview with frontman Brett Anderson, where he talks about his recently published memoirs and teases the new Suede album.

In the interview, Anderson says:

“There are 14 tracks but not all are ‘proper’ songs. One of my favourites of these is a little field recording I did of me and my son digging in the garden, which Neil wrote some beautiful backing music for. Oh, by the way, the album is the best thing we’ve done for nearly a quarter of a century.”

Of his recent book tour promoting his memoirs Coal Black Mornings, the Suede frontman says:

“It’s been a charming and humbling experience. I love hearing how my little songs have woven themselves into the fabric of people’s lives.”

What’s your favourite kids programme? Whether it be now or when you were younger:

“Horrible Histories is rather brilliant isn’t it?”
